Yeah that was fun. Lots of companies with spinning logos with a business model that went something like "Well, we'll get money from investors until we figure out how to have customers." Brilliant!

Well that spirit is alive and well at ReverbNation.

Now I kind of like ReverbNation. They do some pretty cool stuff. Stuff like, answer emails with humans. Really, not all bad.

So I was going to make a video tutorial of how to do this, but I just can't be bothered to install new software, hook up a mic and write a script so here it is for those curious.

We don't need an invasive overpowered organization to pry into our private lives.
We're putting it all online!

Hey I posted some angry stuff online and now my family got chased out of town. Yay.

Good work kids. Now let's see what fun happens when the job applications start. Background check? That's so yesterday. MySpace/Facebook search for dirt? Ah, welcome to 2009.

Or put another way: Even the simplest video games rot your brain hurtling your memories toward oblivion.

This is the kind of spin that gives the Dreidel union the shivers.

So I happened across a blog post by some band announcing they were leaving industrial behind to become a metal band. Same members, same name, same visual theme. Just changing the musical style.

I can understand an artist or group of artists falling in love with another method of creating and having to leave the past behind. People grow and change, and artists probably change more than anyone. For those of you who've had relationships with one you know what I mean.

So what's the problem? When did bands go from being a group of artists with something to express to being a group of people with instrumental skill trying to churn out product?

Instead of writing to explain how they had been realizing more and more that they enjoy making and performing metal, and/or weren't getting the same kind of spark and excitement out of making new industrial music they said something about how "There is a way bigger market in the Metal scene"

What?! It seems like ever since it became easier to be a band without a label people are starting to spend all their time acting like MBAs instead of artists. Why are so many "artists" talking about so much business crap?

Go get fucked up and have a good time already! Live through something crazy enough to inspire you so you can create something that inspires someone else! Aaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!

This is all so obvious I can't even find the words to continue.

Well... DUH!

Have /you/ ever seen the headline "Happy well adjusted couple commit murder, suicide" ?
And people ask me why I don't read news. Right.

Yeah right.

So, Sunday was fucking awesome! As usual, I went through several wild mood swings but the night was super mega fun. I'd put an exclamation point on there, but I used them all up writing the promo text for our next show. Seriously, because /that's/ going to be dope so it really took a lot of them. I seriously considered using some 1s when I ran out.

I'm trying to think of highlights of the evening but really it was all in the setup. Everyone knew there was going to be hot body painted naked devil girls. And everyone knew we were going to play. And everyone knew there was going to be a lot of non-cola beverages consumed. I think maybe someone snuck some juice into a drink or two of mine, because I got taken advantage of.

We placed an order for more Razorblade Fairytales today because we've been out a while, and finally after new fans chastising me (as lovingly as they could) I realized digital distribution really isn't enough no matter what the "Blogosphere" says.

WTF is the Blogosphere anyway? People were sharing their thoughts on the net long before some marketing VP came up with that nonsense. Even frickin LiveJournal has been around since 1999, so will mainstream news outlets kindly STFU already about the "Revolution"? Idiots.

In happier news, lots of you think Razorblade Fairytales is an awesome stocking stuffer. That makes me really happy. Little Match Girl is actually based on a Christmas story by Hans Christian Andersen (Oh shit! HITB peeps /read/?!). I really like that song.

What's your favorite Christmas related song?
